Signature Dresses welcomed their Georgetown neighbors along with members of the Metropolitan community to the Grand Opening of their new location on 1626 Wisconsin Ave NW, Washington DC. The boutique is located on the historic Book Hill Row of Georgetown. With a Paris feel, Book Hill Row is just steps away from Book Hill Park, its name sake. It is also where many shops and boutiques call home and now where Signature Dresses resides.
The hosts for the evening were Miss District of Columbia Jasmine Jones joined by Porcha Lee Taylor (although not wearing her sash Ms. Taylor is the current crowned Miss District of Columbia United States). Both ladies were not just hosts for this enchanted evening but models as well! Other featured models for the night were the Miss District of Columbia USA 2017 contestants. The models and the fashion did not disappoint.
The featured designer for the show was Jovani of New York. His collection is a staple at Signature Dresses. First looks for the evening were from his signature dress collection; while the second looks for the night were from his Haute Couture line. The fabrics and textures varied in range and colors to flatter all body types. Styles ranged from A-line to mermaid from cocktail to ball gowns. There was a dress for every occasion. With standing room only guest compliments and affirmation could be heard throughout the boutique with each passing model. Guests were also invited to shop the collection and other looks after the fashion show.
Signature Dresses has been the only Premier Formal Boutique in the District of Columbia for over 30 years. They have dressed a diversity of women from attendees of the Presidential Inaugural Balls, high school young ladies looking for their perfect dress for prom and even one member of the Real Housewives of Potomac. Signature dresses seems to have settled in quite nicely and is sure to be around for another 30 years!
