Review: November Sephora Play! Beauty Box

Hey Rubies!

This is my first Sephora Play! box. If you are not familiar with the Sephora beauty box its a monthly subscription program where 5-6 sample products are sent to you to try. There is a different theme each month; the theme for this month is Best in Glow. I especially enjoyed all of the products that were picked.   I always appreciate when a company pays special attention to detail and the extra effort to do a little more. With this being my first box I was highly impressed! From the pamphlet describing all of the included products, to the bag that went along with the theme. I was all smiles.

This was the little poach that all of the products came in. I can definitely see myself using it again either for travel or to store some of my other make–up items. Again, I  love, love, love the effort to go along with the Best in Glow theme.

Now on to the products! Here are all the products together! Six sample products all curated to help you “glow”.

Glamglow Ywp-1479740331232.pngouthmud Tinglefoliate Treatment

I enjoyed this product alot! The instructions say to apply a thin layer to clean skin (of course!), let it soak for ten minutes and then use water to remove it using a circular motion. I did just that and after using it my face felt very smooth and soft. Would I purchase this myself? Yes I would!

Caudalie Vinosource Moisturizing Sorbet

This moisturizer boasts that it is “gentle on easily irritated complexions…and can be applied for both AM and PM skincare routines”.  It hails from, “wine-growing region of Bordeaux”. Ingredients include organic grape water, grape seed polyphenols and antioxidants. I was highly pleased with the way my skin felt and it was indeed light yet moisturizing. Would I purchase the full version? Yes indeed.

Cover FX Illuminating Primer

Next up was facial primer. Now facial primer is highly important for my makeup routine. This is a silicone free primer that has a “light-reflecting mineral complex that helps to eliminate dullness”. With sensitive skin I do have to be picky especially with primers,  and I am happy to say that this primer passed the test. My face was not angry with me and I did not see any initial break outs (which I can usually spot before I leave the house). It felt very lightweight as well. Would I order the full version? Yes please!

Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye colour in RoseGold

After my face was exfoliated, moisturized and primed, it was time for my favorite part, the makeup! This glowstick was awesome and even had me searching for more colors and textures. The color stay and payoff is great! I believe that I could even use it as an eyelid primer. It’s also recommended as a highlighter for your cheeks. When I tested it on my hand it did not move, rub or smudge! It was even more pretty on my eyelids. This glow stick is giving me life ya’ll, I love it!! It will definitely be my go to for this holiday season! Would I buy more shades? Heck yea yea!

Sephora Collection

Ultra Shine Lip Gel: Pin up pink

This lip gel can be used by itself or layered on top of lipstick. It’s also hydrates very well and boasts that it “visibly plumps lips”. Well with already naturally plump lips I didn’t notice a difference but my lips felt nice after using it. I would purchase it.

Stella McCartney Pop

To top off our list of glow inspired products is perfume.

The fragrance family is floral and woody. I found it to be not overwhelming and very yummy smelling. I prefer clean, fresh girlie scents and it fit right in with my criteria. My husband even asked me what smelled so nice, so I take it he approved as well! This is going on  my list of contenders for my next perfume purchase.

A bonus and great marketing strategy was a gift card for 30 extra beauty insider points if you go to a Sephora store and make a purchase. I don’t know…there are a few things calling my name haha, you just might find me there.

Overall Rubies, I was very happy and pleased with my first Sephora Play! experience. I see you Sephora with the theme. It didn’t click at first! But I see you! I used all the products to get my face together on Sunday for church and I received many compliments.  I am looking forward to my December box. December is my birthday month so I hope it’s another good one!

I am considering one more box, any suggestions for one I could try? Comment below.

XO Rubies, remember…no one compares to you!
