Valentine’s Day is right around the corner!! Whether you have a sweetheart or are single; and even if your partaking in the new Galentine’s day trend, of spending February 13th with your gals pals, you can still #Slay…okay!
Here is the breakdown of products I used to achieve my Valentine’s Day inspired makeup look.
First I make sure to prep and prime my freshly washed face for make up.
Next I apply my Hourglass Primer to my entire face. Photo Credit: Sephora.com
Then I used my Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance palette for my eyes.
1.To start I used Raw Sienna on my entire eye lid.
2. and 3. For my transition colors, only on the crease of my eye, I used both Red Ochre and Love Letter.
4. Then to add some depth to my eyes I gently used Cypres Umber, along my crease and outer corner of my eye…very lightly.
(Am I the only one wondering where the names of these eye shadows came from 😛
Before placing my Glitter Shadow on my lid I used my NYX Glitter Glue as an additional primer, to cut my crease. This helps to keep the glitter from falling into my eyes and keeps it in place. I did one lid at a time, this way I was able to take my time and make sure that each eye lid dried properly.
For my lid I used this Glitter palette I bought from my local beauty supply store for $2.99. A pretty good deal if you ask me, I love a great beauty find! Typically I do not use any of the applicators that come with make up that I buy. I prefer to use my own make up tools. Most of my brushes come from BH Cosmetics.
I find them reasonably priced and of high quality. I recently purchased some new brushes that I am trying out, look out for a review coming soon. For this specific look, I used a flat eye-shadow brush to pack the glitter shadow onto my lids, I did not brush it on!
I used my favorite non smudging eye liner. Kat Von D, Tattoo liner in the color Trooper.
Lastly for my eyes I popped on the lashes, pictured above, from my local beauty supply store.
Moving on to my face. I used my LA girl pro color corrector concealer in the shade Orange. This shade for color correcting helps to better conceal dark under eye areas or for any dark spots or blemishes. It also ensures that my foundation applies easily and stays true to its shade and my complexion.
I used my everyday foundation NYX stay Matte not flat all over my face. To set my liquid foundation I used my Derma Blend Loose Setting Powder on my entire face.
If you know me than you know that I love, love, love a highlight!!! My favorite go-to for that, is my BH Cosmetics Missy Lynn palette. This golden shimmer highlight is exactly what I need. I highlighted my cheekbones, the tip of my nose and the center of my forehead. You can see how those areas caught the light in my photo above.
Lastly, I decided go with a red lip, it just feels fun and romantic to me. I used my Besame Cosmetics lipstick in the shade, Red Hot Red.. It’s not a true red, more of a peachy red, which I thought went well with my overall make-up look.
Lastly, I used my favorite setting spray of the moment, my Urban Decay All Nighter setting spray to set my makeup in place. Only one powder touch up. This stuff works really well!
**Note these photos were all taken after a long full day of wear.
