Product Review: Columbia Cosmetics Probiotic Complex and Probiotic Concentrate

Hello again Rubies!!

I hope your week has been going well so far! As you all know I enjoy introducing new products and brands with you all, so I thought I share a quick product review of Columbia Skincare Probiotic Complex and  Probiotic Concentrate. Healthy skin is a priority for me, especially as I get older (and I know it for you all as well!).

There are so many products on the market it’s hard to tell which is what. Skincare has come a long way from just a bar of soap. As a child, I can remember my mother using her Oil of Ole products and warning my siblings and I that it was not regular lotion (I loved playing in all my mother’s make-up and jewelry).

I never truly understood why back then, and as I got older she reminded me to make sure I keep my face moisturized.

I was asked to try and review the Probiotic Complex and Probiotic Concentrate by Columbia Skincare, and share my thoughts with you all. As always, all opinions are my own and I will always be honest; because that’s just how I roll!

Let’s get into this review! These are the newest products to launch from the Columbia Skincare line. I was not familiar with Columbia Skincare, but with any company I’m not familiar with, I had to make sure I did my research (especially when it comes to my face). i was pleasantly surprised to find out that Columbia Skincare has been around for since 1871…now that’s a lot of years, 146 to be exact. I’m sure you don’t get to be around for that many years unless you know a little something…something.

Columbia Skincare Probiotics are not cosmeceutical skincare products, but health products…They are the world’s first skincare products to use topical specific bacteria, made to enhance the skin’s ability to renew itself.

Why Probiotics? If you are like me, you may be wondering about this Probiotic thing. I know that there are “good” and “bad” bacteria and I haven’t even heard of any that you could put on your face. Columbia Skincare has found a way to use the “good” bacteria along with amino acids, plant stem cells to develop a formula that helps the skin renew itself. This formula has less side effects than other anti-aging skin care ingredients. Skin renewal helps minimize the effects of aging on the skin which equals less wrinkles…Yay!

Packaging. The packaging for both the Complex and Concentrate are quite nice. I really enjoyed the dropper for the Concentrate, it always dropped just the right amount needed to cover my face. The germophobe in me would have liked if the complex came in a squeeze bottle or different packaging that didn’t require dipping my hands in. I always washed my hands before using this, but there’s a chance that it could get contaminated.

Directions. At first, I thought perhaps there was a step 1 or 2 in terms of how to use the products however there weren’t any directions (perhaps you could use one without the other, I’m not sure). I decided to formulate my own routine, I use the Concentrate first and then the Complex, and so far it’s been working very well. I use it on my clean freshly washed face, in the morning, I use it before I apply my primer and makeup for the day.  I use it again at bedtime; I love the way my skin feels in the morning. It feels so soft and healthy. I haven’t tried using just one without the other but I may just have to try it in the future.

Final thoughts. While I don’t know how to measure skin”renewal” itself or what your skin should feel like once it has been. What I do know, is that my skin felt very nice after using this product. I received my products back in February so I’ve had some time to really give it the ole school try and really form an honest opinion. Additionally, I’ve received many compliments on the appearance of my skin (that puts a smile on a girls face for sure).

The Columbia Probiotic Complex retails for $165 and Columbia Probiotic Complex retails for $190. If you are interested in purchasing either of these products, you can here. Columbia Skincare will even throw in a free moisturizing cream ($38 value) if you use the code: ProbioticGift at checkout. (I always look out for my Rubies 🙂

I intend to use this product until it’s finished and I can definitely do a follow-up if you all would like one, let me know in the comment section below. Don’t forget to follow along on Instagram and Facebook!

This is the first time I read about this skincare brand, but it looks like a good one. And it looks luxurious. At first glance I thought it was Shiseido.

This is cool that there are probiotics in the products. I know they are great for your gut and body but never thought about it for your skin. SO cool.

I didn’t know Probiotic can be put in a skin care product too. Funny that all I know is it’s in a drink. Lol. Anyway, if it does good to your skin it is probably a good one to try.

I am so glad you liked the product. It sounds like a wonderful product and for that price it must be something renewing the skin properly. Would love to know what you think about the product after continuing for a few more months.

I love probiotics. I use them to treat infections and just to feel good in general, but I had no idea they had cosmetic properties as well. I’ll have to give these a try. Nice skin is definitely tied to feeling good inside, at least for me!
