Product Review: Eva NYC Clean it Up Shampoo and Therapy Session Hair Mask

Hello Again Rubies!!

I’m excited to share this product review for Eva NYC Clean it Up Shampoo and Therapy Session Hair Mask. While I received these complimentary products from Influenster to review. I of course,  only share my true and honest opinion and truthfully, I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed these products. I will admit that it took me a few days to test them because for some reason (don’t ask me why cause I don’t know) I

didn’t think it would work well on my hair texture. My daughter and I have tight curly hair that is also soft and very fickle when it comes to hair products.  These, however, have made it onto the grocery list to be picked up at my local Costco!

As I mentioned earlier I received the samples in my Charm Vox Box from Influenster. If you’re not familiar with Influenster it is a site where you can find product reviews (and write reviews) ask questions (and answer questions) regarding beauty products and many other products as well as stay on top of trends and enter to win contests to try free products. Which is exactly what I did! I won this Charm Vox Box with all the items you see below.

The shampoo lathered up very nicely.  I washed, rinsed and repeated. For the first wash it seemed like I had to use a lot of product. Once the first round was over, the second wash used less shampoo and the lather was fuller.

Below is my mini with the therapy session hair mask letting it penetrate her mini strands. I really enjoyed that the products gave her coils an extra boost of definition.

When I washed the shampoo and mask out of her hair, her hair was quite easy to comb, very soft and manageable and also smelled very nice. I didn’t even get one ouchie or complaint from my cutie. Here’s a pic of her little afro below.

The end result was one happy little girl and one happy mommy. Her hair looked neat, smelled great and required little to no detangling. I was able to part her hair easily, style it and she was off to play. I’ve used both products myself and it garnered the same results.  It made my coils tighter and more defined, yet easy to manage.

Overall Rubies, I really enjoyed my introduction of this new hair product line and I am willing to give it a try for a bit.  It’s great for all hair types and textures and is free of unhealthy parabens.  I will definitely be incorporating them into our summer hair care routine.  I’m looking forward to trying other products from this brand and reviewing other products for you all as well!

  1. First of all, anything with rubies in it — love it! This is a great product review and thanks for the info about Influenster. I will definitely check it out.

  2. Hi Maria,

I just LOVE your blog, great name, great content too!

I can so relate, I am all about trying new hair products that are supposed to make my curls amazing. Only downside is I have bins filled with partly used products. As soon as I try one, I’m like onto the next.

    Thanks for the insight,

    1. Thanks so much Nadalie!

I agree it’s very easy to start collecting products while on the hunt for the “right one”. I think I will stick with this one for just a bit. I said I wasn’t going to buy anything new until I finish what I have 🙂

  3. Great blog! Your daughter has beautiful hair. I will have to give these products a try, I work as a shampoo tech in my mom’s salon and the number 1 problem that I have when shampooing natural hair is that it is hard to lather up. I will end up using a lot of product for one head, and the hair is not easy to comb….your daughter hair look very manageable..great review

    1. Thanks so much!! I found that the first wash doesn’t lather up very well if there is product build up. That’s why I “rinsed and repeated” and that truly made a difference. And of course, conditioning afterwards is extremely important to help restore the moisture that was lost. I hope these products fair well for you, I’m glad this post was helpful!!
