Unboxying and Try-on: May BoxyCharm! {Video}

Hey Hey Rubies!!

I hope your May has been going well so far! I’m two months into my BoxyCharm Subscription and it’s very rare that a box will get 5 out of 5 Rubies from me, but I am really digging all the items I received this month. I was pleasantly surprise to received my BoxyCharm Subscription box early this month. The theme for May is “Make Waves” and Ruby this has all the makings of looking you best while having fun in the sun this spring/summer season.  I am really loving all the items I received in my box. There was a product for just about every area of my face. I literally did a complete look (save for foundation) eyes, lips, cheeks look everything straight out of the box!

(Check out the pics below). Check out a brief description of the items I received and then watch the view to see how I use the products I received.

GlamGlow- GentleBubble Cleanser $28

This is a gel based facial cleanser that removed all the make-up and impurities of the day. It’s infused with Oat amino acids, apple extract, vitamin E and green tea. It’s totally vegan and it’s safe for all skin types. The packaging being so much fun is a bonus.

Alamar- Colorete Blush Trio $22

There were three shade options available, I received the medium/tan blush trio, it boasts that it’s “buttery smooth and highly pigmented”. I can say that both of these things are true! My two faves are “isla”  and “toasted” sadly the shade “seclusion” did not show up well on my skintone. It’s vegan friendly,  and cruelty free, fragrance free and talc free…if it’s talc free, it’s for me and will be in my make-up kit this summer!

Dose of Colors Matte Liquid Lipstick $18

This is the first time I have actually tried this brand, I have heard about them for years and was delighted to give them a go in this month’s box. The Shade is so fun and flirty. I can def see myself wearing it paired with my Alamar blush this summer. It take a little moment to dry but once it’s on it stays on. The swatch on my hand took a while to come off. The shade is super vibrant and rich!

Mellow brow definer $18

The tip is triangular and it is supposed to help get precise brow definition. When I used it I was impressed with how soft it was and how easy it was to use on my brows. It’s also smudge proof and should last for hours.

Ciate London- Eye Lustre Crème Eyeshadow

I received the shade Cupid which is a really cute golden, purple-ish shade, almost holographic even depending on the angle. I really like how it looks on my skin tone. It has a doe foot applicator which makes it easy to apply to the lid. I did a quick cut crease on top of the make-up I was already wearing and the results were impressive. I’ve tried Ciate London lip products before and they’ve worked pretty well, this eye shadow did not disappoint.

Final look using blush, eye brow definer, eye-shadow and liquid lip stick from May box.

Overall, the May box gets two thumbs up! If you’re interested in subscribing check out the website for more details. I paid $21 for $108 worth of FULL SIZE products and I intend to use them all. Now all subscriptions boxes are not created equal and all of them can be hit or miss some months and that is to be expected. There are several different variations of the box and this one suits me perfectly. Everything made me feel all warm inside like it was my birthday again.
